From an early age Ruthie Stitt has had music in her life. Starting with piano, then later flute, Ruthie followed her musical path to the University of Maryland, graduating with a Bachelor's of Music in Education. After teaching in the DC area for several years Ruthie decided to pursue her Master's degree and studied at Chicago College of Performing Arts where she earned her Master's of Music in Orchestral Studies. Her main instructors included Donald Peck, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Jennifer Gunn. As a performer Ms. Stitt was a sub with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and performed in Mexico as part of the Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes. As an educator Ruthie has maintained a piano and flute studio for over 10 years and teaches Middle School choir, music, and strings in the Shamong School district. Ruthie likes to spend any spare time she has in the company of her dog and 3 cats.
