About Music Lessons and Music Therapy
at the NJ School of Music
Why choose the NJ School the New Jersey School of Music? We are different. Established in 1958 and being the oldest music school in South Jersey, we have learned a few things over the years. First, our teachers are all dedicated, degree holding, professional music instructors who are passionate about teaching music and love what they do. Our teachers only teach the instruments they are qualified to teach, which allows them to focus on their area of expertise. Each private music lesson is tailored to the individual student and allows the student to learn at a comfortable pace. Music lessons are taught in a comfortable setting with windows in each studio and ample waiting space for accompanying family.
We strive to provide the finest music education at an affordable price. With multiple teachers and instruments available each day we are able to provide a variety of music lessons. This also allows families to have multiple kids taking lessons at one time, avoiding multiple trips. Music lessons are available Monday through Saturday in Medford and Monday through Thursday in Cherry Hill; from beginner to advanced; children to adults; classical to jazz to rock; we have it all. We offer: Banjo Lessons, Bass Lessons, Cello Lessons, Clarinet Lessons, Drum Lessons, Flute Lessons, French Horn Lessons, Guitar Lessons, Harmonica Lessons, Mandolin Lessons, Piano Lessons, Piccolo Lessons, Recorder Lessons, Saxophone Lessons, Violin Lessons, Viola Lessons, Trombone Lessons, Tuba Lessons, Trumpet Lessons, Ukulele Lessons, and Voice Lessons. Additionally, on staff is a Board Certified Music Therapist offering private music therapy sessions to children, teenagers and adults with special needs. Music theory, audition and or college prep can be included into any lesson.
In addition to standard private lessons we have several supplemental music ensembles. Ensembles provide students the opportunity to play in a group, which helps build listening and communication skills along with experiencing the excitement of performing with others.
With locations in both historic downtown Medford, New Jersey and Cherry Hill, New Jersey, we are conveniently located to much of the South Jersey community. Whether you are interested in music lessons for yourself, a child or grandchild we would love to accompany you on your musical journey.
