Music Lesson Pricing and Fee Structure

Consistency in lessons and regular practice plays a major role in the growth of any musician. Therefore we highly recommend students take, at a minimum, one half-hour lesson per week. More advanced students may need extra lesson time and therefore we offer forty-five and sixty minute lessons as well. We also offer ensembles and bands as a supplement to lessons. Playing in ensembles and bands helps strengthen a student's overall musicianship.

Tuition is due monthly at the first lesson of the month for the month ahead. Payments received after the 15th of the month are subject to a $25 late fee per lesson. Discounted lessons rates are available for families.

Music Therapy

Music Therapy is billed monthly with payment due on the first session of the month for the month ahead.

US Military Discount Program

The New Jersey School of Music offers a 10% discount off of lessons for active members of the US Military. This discount may not be combined with any other coupons or discounts offered by the New Jersey School of Music, LLC.

Instrument Rentals

Music instrument rentals are only available to students enrolled in private lessons at the New Jersey School of Music. All rental fees are applied towards the eventual purchase of the instrument. For students who need fractional sized instruments, we will grow the instrument as the student grows and transfer all previous payments towards the new instrument.

• Cello and Electric Guitar/Bass Rentals:
  $75 for 3 months
• All other instruments:
  $60 for 3 months

Additional Information

We do not charge registration fees but we require payment for the first month's lessons upon registration. Once a student is registered we expect to see them weekly at the time assigned. We understand that on occasion conflicts arise and therefore we allow four absences per calendar year with make-ups. We do not guarantee make-up class availability for absences beyond the fourth. There are no financial credits offered for student absences.

If schedules change and you need to move your lesson time around we will do our best within the confines of our schedule to accommodate your needs.

To discontinue lessons we require a two (2) week notice at which point all outstanding balances must be paid.
